Installing the Leak Detector Tray
Note: If you are installing this alongside an existing under-sink filtration system, start by turning off the cold water line going to your system. If you have a storage tank, close the valve. Drain as much water from the system as possible. You will need to remove the feedwater line going from your cold water line to your filtration system in order to install the detector. Lay down towels or have a container handy to catch any water.
If you are installing a new under-sink system alongside the leak detector kit, be sure to consult the system manual of the system you are installing before beginning the leak detector install and follow all appropriate steps.
Determine which of the tray’s six mounting points you will use to install the detector, depending on likely leak points.
Ensure that your system will fit in the tray with the detector in place. Set the detector on its mounting position, but do not install it or the cotton pad yet.
Place the leak detector tray (with detector placed, but not secured) in your under-sink cabinet, and place your filtration system inside the tray. Most RO undersink systems will fit. See tray dimensions above.
Ensure that the fit is good, and your hoses will reach the detector valve before final install.
If you are using the optional SP-LD133-BRK Wall Mount Brackets with a wall-mounted filter system, find a suitable place beneath your system, and pre-drill holes with a power drill. Install the brackets with the provided screws and hang the tray beneath your system.
Installing the Leak Detector Valve
The leak detector valve goes between the feedwater line under your sink and your RO or other filtration system. The compressed cotton pad in the detector expands when exposed to moisture, pushing up a valve in the detector that cuts off the feedwater, protecting your home from potential water damage.
Warning: The valve is highly sensitive to water. Please install with caution, as the leak stop pad will require replacement every time it comes into contact with water.
Screw the leak detector to the tray mounting points you have chosen.
Ensure that your cold water line is turned OFF.
Measure from the feed water adapter on your cold water line to the leak detector inlet port and cut the hose to length. Cut only with angle cutters or a razor blade. Do not use scissors or a knife, as these can crimp and damage the hoses, resulting in leaks.
Connect the tubing from the feed water valve to the inlet port of the leak stop valve.

Measure from the outlet port of the leak detector to the inlet port on your water filter system, and cut to length.
Connect the 1/4" white tubing from the outlet port of the leak stop valve to the inlet port of your water filter system.
Before installing the cotton pad, ensure that all hose connections are tight, and start the system. Check for leaks. If leaks are present, turn off the cold water supply and correct the problem before proceeding.
If no leaks are present, install the cotton pad. Your SP-LD200-KIT Leak Detector Kit is now ready for use.
